We want your child to be happy in our care. It is important to build your child's confidence at their pace so s/he is happy.
Carer's are always welcome at "kids First", and you may stay as long as you wish, to settle your child in to group, to ease the transition from home to school.
You are welcome to visit us before your child starts at "Kids First", so your child can see the routine and set up of the group, and to meet the staff.
It is important for your child to know what to expect when they first come to pre-school, so please talk to your child and try and dispel any fears they might have.
If you are worried in any way please talk to our very caring staff. We will inform you of your child's settling in progress, and reassure those carers whose children seem to be taking longer to settle in.
The telephone number of the hall is 01708 474138, please feel free to telephone us at any time
We welcome help from carer's at any time, as we can offer more supervised activities when we have extra help.
For hygienic reasons and for the child's comfort, it has been decided the children should bring to group a bag containing a change of clothes. Individual children's toileting needs will be met. In group we have several pots, a toilet training seat and stools. The toilets used at Kids first are individual cubicles in a communal area, these are supervised by an adult who has been cleared by Ofsted. If your child is not toilet trained, please provide enough nappies, wipes and nappy sacks for each session.
We love to get messy so please dress your child accordingly, or purchase a Kids First t'shirt and sweatshirt.
At Kids First we like to encourage healthy eating, we would like the children to bring to group one fruit per week, which will be washed and cut up and shared at snack time. We offer drinks of fresh water juice and milk free of charge at a rolling snack table. Here children are encouraged to share from the snack tray and pour their own drinks.
If you wish to reduce or terminate your child's place, we need four week notice, or four weeks fees.
Its the groups policy not to offer a child less then two sessions a week, we feel that less then two sessions does not help a child when settling into group.
