At kids First we promote physical development through regular rotated gross / large physical equipment and activities such as, bikes, obstacle course, parachute, music and movement, these help the child develop their physical skills.
The climbing frame is a constant source of daily development, where children daily have time to gain confidence in movement and co-ordination.
Use of hoops, tunnel and balance beam in our obstacle course encourages large scale movements, and small construction such as connectable, duplo, brio, waffles, stickle bricks and threading beads enforce the opportunities to develop small scale movement.
Our confidence and self-independence building is strengthened through activities such as painting, putting on/off aprons, washing/drying hands.
Toilet and personal hygiene needs with support if needed.
There is support and encouragement for those children whose confidence is growing, to help others i.e. at snack time, the children themselves become good role models to others.
A good range of vocabulary is introduced to the child to develop a clear understanding of words and their meaning when following instructions: - "copy" - "lead" - "follow".
