At Kids first we promote the Early Learning Goals of personal social and emotional development with sound knowledge that staff employed and parental involvement are qualified and skilled in child development and willing to learn.
This enables the staff to interact well with the children on a ratio of 1 adult per 6 children. Fostering constructive relationships and encouraging children to express their emotions and needs. Working alongside children in these small numbers helps develop their independence.
The children with the aid of the key worker system will feel confident and comfortable with an adult, who in turn will provide a positive role model through play.
Areas such as story time, circle time, rolling milk table, build on such relationships. Sand, water and creative play, such as home corner and small imaginary toys encourage curiosity and role-play.
Themed activities help develop the child's awareness of the community around us, which include visits from parents and outside agencies such as nurse, police.
