Health and Safety Policy

Choose the policy you want to read

The group operates an exclusion policy in line with social services guidelines on a number of infectious diseases, this does not include HIV and Aids

If your child is absent from the group because of an infectious disease please telephone us so we can, if thought appropriate, notify others, upholding confidentiality.

No child suffering from an illness likely to be infectious will be allowed to come to the group. This policy will be enforced to ensure the health of other children attending the group and lessen the spread of infection.

We have a first aid box on the premises, which is kept and maintained by us. There is always a first aid trained member of staff on duty.

Should your child become unwell at group every effort will be made to contact you or your emergency contact. If necessary we will seek medical assistance, (Please see declaration on registration form)

Medication can only be administered with prior written notice. The time and dosage of medication will be noted in the accident book, which must be counter signed by parents. If a child has asthma and requires a pump, a spare pump must be left with us with written instructions and dosage noted. If administered the time and dosage will be noted in the accident book and must be counter signed by parents.

If a child uses an epipen this must be left with us with written instructions and dosage noted, again if administered it will be noted in the accident book.

If the weather is sunny and we are in the garden, we may feel it safer to put sun cream on the children to protect them. If you wish to supply your own. please label it with your childs name and inform a member of staff.
